About Us

Holdfast was founded in London, England in 1923 and was established in Australia in 1952. The adhesive products in those early days were manufactured to service the textile, shoe and millinery industries. Today, Holdfast is an independently owned and local Australian adhesive manufacturer. Our manufacturing plant is located in Botany NSW Australia. Our facility encompasses three thousand square meters which includes our manufacturing plant, warehouse and logistics centre, research and development facilities and our sales and administration office.

Holdfast’s core market is within the floor-covering industry and we are members of the Carpet Institute of Australia as well as the Australian Timber Flooring Association.We boast a comprehensive range of products for textile, resilient and timber floor-coverings.

Holdfast is also a member of the Green Building Council Australia.

Holdfast also manufacture a range of industrial adhesives and sealants for the construction industry, wall-covering adhesives, as well as adhesives for furniture manufacturing and foam lamination industries.  In addition, our product offer includes adhesives for the packaging industry as well as a comprehensive range of adhesives and sealants for the consumer/DIY market. 

Our key R&D focus is the development of safer and more enhanced adhesive technologies for our core markets. Therefore, when developing new products not only do our adhesives conform to Australian and international VOC and indoor air quality standards, we also look at ways for developing sustainable manufacturing techniques during inline production as well as end of life solutions for the adhesive product.

Holdfast is currently in the implementation phase of its ISO 9001 Quality System & 14001 Environmental Management Systems. At Holdfast we a have strong customer centric approach and this allows us to develop new products with our customers at the front-end. We also invite our customers and suppliers to help us at the back and front ends of our business.  The technologies we use for the manufacture of our products include;
